We live in Carlisle. We walk on the
pavements, drive on the roads and cycle the paths. At
some point
something will have made you say "Why don't the they do ...?",
"Why don't they make that a..." or "You know what
would make that better”.
You may have been sat in traffic, walked past the same over grown patch ground or run down buildings and you had that idea. We think we have great ideas but we never do anything about them. The blood pumps a little harder and chemicals are released in our brain but when the front door closes that great idea hides away.
With a couple of notable exceptions we don't contact our local councillor or in anyway let the city hear the idea.
This site is clearly based on the Carlisle Renaissance but this is not to mock or satirise it. This isn't political. This will hopefully be a forum for ideas.
It's not about it being feasible. It's the idea. From a 'crazy' idea someone else could see a more practical way of using that scheme or it could inspire somebody to look at that location in a new way, with fresh eyes. Ideas evolve.
Think of this as an image of an alternate dimension. A map of 'What if?'s.
'What if we painted the Civic Centre pink?'
'What if we pedestrianised West Walls?'
Please submit as many ideas (from tiny to huge) as you can think of and please take time to rate other people's ideas.
Rome wasn't built in a day. It's 1,008,978 and counting.
